Foundation of a Well Built Website – WordPress

Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance!

Everyday there are literally hundreds of thousands of websites created, maybe even millions. With so many websites coming online, I often wonder, how well are they built?

Every website should be built on top of a solid foundation. Robust code that is battle tested and updated often. A foundation that isn’t abandoned over time and crumbling under the weight of the internet.

The problem with a website built on top of a weak foundation is that it might not perform as it should. A website has to be able to deal with the varrying types of devices that people use to search the internet. Back in the day people only had desktops. Often with low resolution screens. Today people have watches that are connecting to the internet.

Poorly written code opens up a website to easily getting hacked.  Abandoned code means your website might literally be obsolete. Why do websites need to get updated so often? For the same reason that your phone, tablet and computers operating system gets frequent updates. Newer code will often introduce more features, become more performant and patch up any uncovered security issues that might exist.

That is why I build websites using WordPress. The WordPress core is updated often and provides the strong foundation people need in order to have a secure website.

The Takeaway

If your thinking about creating a website or blog make sure it is built on a strong foundation. Remember the Leaning tower of Pisa. A beautiful building built on a poor foundation. Don’t let the same thing happen to your website.
